Shipping policy

Every journal we make is custom-built to your design, so the timing here is a little different from a typical retail purchase. Here's what to expect.

Production time

Individual orders are produced within 2 to 6 business days of your order being placed. Bulk orders take 1 to 2 weeks depending on size and customizations. Production has to be complete before your order ships.

Shipping time

Once your journal is produced, shipping time depends on your location and the shipping option selected at checkout. You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number once your order is on its way. The tracking number will be active within 24 hours.

If we run into a production delay or anything that would meaningfully push back your delivery, we'll email you directly so you're not left wondering.

Where we ship

We currently ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Customs, duties, and taxes

For orders shipped outside the United States, any customs duties, import taxes, or fees imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are determined by your local customs authority and are not included in our shipping rates.

Damaged or lost shipments

If your journal arrives with a production defect (smudging, binding issues, page misalignment, or anything else that came from our end), email us at contact@thecustomjournal.com within 14 days of delivery with photos. We'll either reprint your order at no cost or issue a full refund, depending on what makes sense for the situation. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

If your package is damaged in transit by the shipping carrier (crushed boxes, water damage, packages that arrive opened or torn) or lost after being marked as delivered, please file a claim directly with the carrier. Carriers handle these cases and will compensate you according to their policies. Save all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing your claim, as the carrier will likely ask for them.

Bulk orders

Bulk orders are shipped separately from individual orders, with multiple shipping options presented at the quote stage. Production typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. Specific shipping timelines and costs are agreed upon as part of the bulk order process.
